Disaster in Haiti as ferry capsizes
    Cincinnati Sun
    Sunday 11th May, 2008

Haitian authorities say a ferryboat capsized near the capital Port-au-Prince late on Saturday, killing at least 20 people and leaving dozens more missing.

Police and UN peacekeepers have recovered 20 bodies and are still searching for survivors.

The authorities say more than 100 people were on board the ferry, which was en route from the capital to Pestel in the southwest of the country.

The exact cause of the accident is not yet known but it is possible that overcrowding may have caused the ferry to capsize.
