A woman who gave a near-fatal dose of methadone to a friend's 4-year-old daughter last year on the South Side has been sentenced to five years in prison.

Kimberly S. Brooks, 55, of New York City pleaded guilty on Dec. 15 in Franklin County Common Pleas Court to one count of endangering children.
