Real-life Spiderman, dubbed "Skyscraperman", scaled the exterior of a 58-story skyscraper in downtown San Francisco on Monday.

Dan Goodwin, 54, started climbing the city's Millennium Tower building around 2:15 p.m. local time, or 5:15 p.m. EST.

"The building is 58 stories tall. Shortly before 4 p.m., he was about halfway up," the New York Daily News quoted police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza as telling Bay City News.

Goodwin, appeared to be using suction cups to scale the building, while wearing what looked like a superhero costume.

Bay area ABC affiliate KGO-TV streamed live video of Goodwin's climb on its website.

And the daredevil could be seen planting an American flag on the side of the building before making his way to the crowd of police calmly waiting for him at the top.

Police said they planned to arrest Goodwin when he reached the top of his climb.

"We will have officers waiting for him at the top of the building to detain him pending futher investigation," said Esparza. (ANI)
